Four Learning Modules

Ken Wilber's AQAL Theory has five major elements - called quadrants, levels, lines, states, and types. The CIT Global program covers each of these elements and how they apply to therapy over the course of four learning modules.  The course is self-paced, but each module is about one academic quarter worth of material.

The training is intended for therapists, therapist graduate students, and professional life coaches. Participants are welcome from anywhere across the globe. Upon completion of the program, students will receive certification as a Certified Integral Therapist (Level 1, Practitioner level).

The four modules of the program include:

  • Module One is focused on quadrants and on integrative foundations of psychotherapy
  • Module Two is focused on levels/stages and stage-assessment and therapeutic interventions
  • Module Three is focused on states, specifically traumatic states and spiritual states
  • Module Four is focused on types, specifically addressing racial and ethnic diversity, gender, and sexuality

A Guide to Integral Psychotherapy

The CIT training is partially based on Dr. Forman's text, A Guide to Integral Psychotherapy. It is also based on Dr. Forman's unpublished second text, Advancing in Integral Psychotherapy, which participants will receive when they enroll.

"Integral Theory offers a remarkably comprehensive conceptual framework, and this book offers a sophisticated view of psychotherapy through its encompassing lens. It’s a book to which I keep returning to glean additional ideas on applying integral perspectives to challenging clinical and life issues.”

— Roger Walsh, MD, author of Essential Spirituality: The Seven Central Practices
